Since 1983, we have been at the forefront of transforming payment systems – starting with existing forms of payment such as ATM, to which we’ve added dozens of innovative features, and more recently with MB WAY, which enables purchases, instant payments, and cash withdrawals using only a mobile phone.

We are the company behind the management of the ATM Express and MULTIBANCO networks across multiple channels—from ATMs and POS terminals to online platforms and mobile devices.

As one of the leading payment processors in Europe and Africa, we ensure seamless transaction processing between issuers and acquirers across various devices, protocols, and networks, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and UnionPay.

We also maintain a strong presence in Central and Eastern Europe through our subsidiaries, SIBS Romania and Paytel. With them, we bring cutting-edge technology and Portuguese expertise to drive the digital transformation of the Romanian and Polish economies.

Portugal

With over 40 years of existence, we are a key player in Portugal’s financial ecosystem. We are the main processor of ATM and point-of-sale networks, a pioneer in digital payments, and a benchmark in cybersecurity and anti-fraud solutions. Additionally, we lead in card production and personalization and play a critical role in Business Process Outsourcing within the financial sector.

Poland

We entered the Polish market in 2009 and since then we have been the processor of the ATM network of one of Poland’s largest banks. In 2018, we extended our presence in this country by integrating the local company Paytel into the SIBS Group.

Romania

In 2020, we took another step towards consolidating our internationalisation strategy with the acquisition of Romania’s leading card processing company – Romcard/Supercard, now known as SIBS Romania.

Algeria

In Algeria, we are responsible for a significant part of the process of branch-automation and of an end-to-end solution for the implementation and management of a network of ATM for one of the main Algerian banks.

Angola

We are the main technological partner of the Angolan payment system, actively contributing to the success of the local interbank processor since 1999 by offering a very wide range of payment solutions.

East Timor

In 2015, we implemented its processing solution in East Timor, which made it possible to manage the ATM and POS network of one of the main local banks.

France

In 2023, we entered the French market by managing and processing a private ATM network, consolidating the Group’s position as a pan-European processor of ATM networks.

Luxembourg

Since 2009, we have been providing SEPA products and SWIFT service connections to various financial institutions in Luxembourg.

Malta

Since 2008, we have been offering innovative and diversified solutions for this market, such as card processing, card personalisation services, fraud prevention and detection, as well as SWIFT Service Bureau.

São Tomé and Principe

We drove the technological renewal of São Tomé and Príncipe’s interbank processor in 2019 through technology for the integrated payment processing system, supplying equipment, ATM and POS terminals, and bank cards.

Spain

We are responsible for providing SWIFT services and SEPA product processing services.
